Mentone Green Roof Renovation

Scope - Waterproof membrane repair

The original green roof membrane for this green roof had failed here and there and needed some patching. As a result the garden had to be removed and completely rebuilt.

Scope - Drainage layers

Once the membrane was repaired we reset the drainage so the voids of the concrete roof that form the garden hold a little bit of water as the client did not want to rely on automated irrigation. Effectively the roof garden will hold water and wick up through the various layers of drainage and capillary fabric.

Scope - Pillows, plants and mulch

Once the drainage layers are down get the Ecopillows installed, plants planted and mulch in - the final steps to a quick lightweight green roof installation!

Results

Once plants, pillows and mulch are in the job is done. The tired old green roof is rebuilt and revived bringing life back into a creative concrete roof structure. Soon the plants will settle in and begin to grow, extending out over the edges of the roof and trailing down in to the void.
